I LOVE TO WALK. I walk every day and, as I do, I see some amazing sights and, as a result, the beauty of nature renews my spirit. As John Burroughs says, «I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.» What do you see when you go walking? Take your camera along next time and capture some sights to share with all of us. We will create a gallery of wonderful 'walking vistas' for each newsletter. Submissions may be emailed to peter@speakwell.com » Please include your name and the location of your picture. « Stuff your eyes with wonder ... See the world. It's more fantastic than any dream made or paid for in factories. » :: Ray Bradbury
Google Walks
BASICALLY IN NORTH AMERICA, go to Google Maps », Choose 'Get Directions' and put in two locations and click to get the result. When the map redraws, choose 'Also available: Walking'.
Google states that their walking directions will try to be direct, flat, and if available, uses pedestrian walkways.
Tip. If you only see driving directions, copy the permalink of the page by clicking on "Link to this page", append &dirflg=w and paste the new URL in the address bar.
